Just like becoming lucid in a dream, awareness is GOOD. You cannot awaken until you start to become aware. However, it is not just any type of awareness, self-awareness is the key to spiritual awakening. Why self-awareness? That is because it is YOU that is awakening to YOU. Awakening is not to awaken to anything outside of yourself.
